Taj Vitales is an archaeologist and a museum researcher of the National Museum of the Philippines.
He earned his Bachelor of Arts in Anthropology (cum laude) and Masters of Arts in Archaeology at the University of the Philippines, Diliman.
He is also currently the program director for Tuklas Pilipinas Inc., a non-government organization dedicated to providing heritage literacy through educational and capacity-building programs.
He has delivered various lectures and workshops about Philippine archaeology and heritage trails.
He was the former vice-president of Kapisanan ng mga Arkeologist sa Pilipinas and is currently an associate member of the National Research Council of the Philippines.
His research interests are the archaeology of Manila, the Tagalog region, shell artifacts, population movements in prehistory, burial practices, and archaeological heritage education.
