Edward Tambiac hails from Sagada, where he is famous in his village for mixing ancient-style weaving with contemporary designs and methods. He weaves sculptures that represent his ancestors’ bone- and wood-carved ceremonial jars and bowls.
Tambiac works in collaboration with pottery artists in his village, producing artefacts long used in traditional ceremonies. In recent years his works have become part of high-end collections in Southeast Asia and Australia.
